Promise of Blood and Honey
A downloadable narrative campaign
Promise of Blood and Honey is a narrative campaign for Necropolis, the miniatures-agnostic, rules-light skirmish game set in the age of the dead. Determine the fate of the Endless City in the time of famine, and win survival and prestige among the warring necromantic cults. The tale begins with a kickoff event on November 11, 2024 and concludes with an apocalyptic finale on December 8, 2024; in between players will advance the story though independent games, collected through battle reports into a single narrative. Will you defend the Endless City and win glory for your covenant, or will you shatter the power of the Towers with but the desperation of hope and hunger?

Last Days of the Endless City
The dead thirst, and as their thirst goes unsated the city seethes. The Endless City, so named not for its size but for its endurance, stands as a monument to the promise of unlife above the unbroken wastes of absolute decay. This promise is delivered by the magics of the city's necromancers; lo but the city heaves with a hunger fit only for the dead as its lifeblood, mana, runs thin.
Always have the pitiless dead been forced to sell their services to buy the sustaining blessings of the liches. Dastardly favors to earn an obol, enough silver, mana-infused coinage to buy another week, another day, to knit together chipping bones or fraying memory. However now even those once flush with necromantic energies look desiccated, eye sockets dry and pallid flesh cracked. The great covenants guard the doors to their towers ever more tightly, and the inner sanctums remain sealed as the grandliches scheme desperate schemes. And in the labyrinthine markets and alleys, the teeming dead grow evermore desperate, hopeless, violent…
You are one of these dead. By grace you have a bit of the gift - enough necromancy to soothe the aching hunger of a few close comrades, if you can find the mana - and so you gather your friends and lovers, animate their weakened corpses, and seek salvation. And, perhaps, power.
The agents of the Towers are demanding fealty, promising deliverance to those who will enforce their order - but their promises grow frail in the starving days. Sweeter still are the heretical rumors of a new cult rising, whispers of unending plenty and utopic redemption, cloy with sustaining mana. Have not the old covenants sustained us already through one death of the world? Is it madness to abandon reason for hunger?
